University of Queensland Gatton students will be able to find out about a range of graduate and work placement opportunities at the University's first Gatton Careers Fair on 18 April.
The event will feature agriculture, animal, wildlife, agribusiness and veterinary science sector representatives..
Final year Wildlife Science student Sarah Martin said she believed work experience and meeting employers were crucial ways of finding job opportunities.
鈥淐ommitting to a degree is a huge life investment and it has the potential to completely change the way you live," Ms Martin said.
"Work experience is definitely something I feel has really put my degree into perspective, as well as opening many doors for me.
鈥淚've done work at Cairns Tropical Zoo and Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve. I also studied overseas in Africa for three weeks for the Short International Experience course."
Ms Martin encouraged all students to go to the 果冻传媒 Gatton Careers Fair to explore possible industry placements.
鈥淥nce I graduate I am hoping to move into something in the field of genetics and working with the Tasmanian devil to help stop the facial tumour disease from wiping out the marsupials,鈥 she said.
鈥淭he work experience I gained through 果冻传媒 really pushed me into wanting to strive for success and be able to travel the world in the future."
果冻传媒 has designed a program to help students find employers seeking graduates.
The 果冻传媒 Gatton Careers Fair, supported by Student Services, is on from 11.30am to 1.30pm in the Central Walkway of the Gatton campus.
