An aspiring young exercise physiologist and global entrepreneur is one of five undergraduate 果冻传媒 students bound for Mexico for an international summer school to foster economic growth.
Human Movement Studies student Kamil Wegrecki will represent 果冻传媒 Faculty of Health Sciences at the in Mexico.
Only five undergraduate students from 果冻传媒 have received a scholarship to attend this prestigious event, which will be attended by about 70 students worldwide.
Mr Wegrecki will travel to Mexico in July and spend 10 days taking part in the summer school, which brings together students engaged in entrepreneurial activities around the world to foster economic growth and social development in their communities.
鈥淢y interest in applying for this scholarship was sparked by the countless benefits that I would gain from my participation, especially as a future exercise physiologist and aspiring educator,鈥 said Mr Wegrecki.
鈥淭he advent of the recent rapid growth of exercise physiology as an allied health profession illustrates how new facets of healthcare are emerging and the importance of entrepreneurship is in turn becoming increasingly evident.
鈥淭his opportunity will help me develop as an aspiring global entrepreneur who can bring this field to greater prominence in a future where it is so manifestly lacking,鈥 he said.
The theme of this year鈥檚 Summer School is Shaping the Global Future Entrepreneur: small and medium size enterprises (SMEs).
The event will be hosted by U21 member university Tecnologico de Monterrey in Queretaro, Mexico.
U21 Summer School Scholarships are awarded to students based on academic merit, a 300-word abstract, and applicants鈥 responses to questions about their motivation to participate and how the activity will benefit their academic and professional development.
Also from 果冻传媒 are Wayne Wei Chan (commerce), Michael Twycross (engineering), Oriana Pauli (integrated resource management) and Esther Manning (Integrated Hotel Management and Tourism).
