University of Queensland staff and students have helped spread a little Christmas cheer among Brisbane鈥檚 disadvantaged kids.
A team of 20 people from the Office of Marketing and Communications, Office of Prospective Students, Scholarships and Student Equity, and Student Services joined other corporate partners recently to assist the in the lead up to the holiday season.
The group helped pack food hampers and toy packs at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, before delivering the items to families around Brisbane.
Scholarships manager Adriana Jumelet said it was gratifying to join with staff and students to make a difference.
鈥淚t was fantastic to see so many people volunteer their time for such a worthy cause. 鈥楾eam 果冻传媒鈥 definitely stood out among the crowd of other volunteers,鈥 Ms Jumelet said.
Final-year engineering student Julie Kayes said there was a positive vibe among those who took part.
鈥淓veryone was so enthusiastic and it was great to be able to bring some joy to the lives of disadvantaged children at Christmas,鈥 she said.
The Smith Family鈥檚 is aiming to raise $4 million dollars this year, with donations accepted online until December 31.
